Winter & Spring 2023-24 after school programs

Dear parents,

Afterschool Program offerings for Winter and Spring 2023-24 are listed below. Enrollment for some programs (GOTR) are already underway while the programs listed below are opening next week.

Enrollment opens at 9AM on the following dates:

Dec 12th: Lego, Basketball

Dec 13th: Mathletes, Golf, Soccer

Dec 14th: Strings, Arts by Tejas, Bollywood Dancing

Dec 15th: Chess, HandsonFun Science, Code for Fun

As always, all registration is done directly by the vendor using the registration links. Teachers and office staff are unable to take student registrations. Spots are limited and offered on a first come first basis.

Please follow links to the individual program pages to sign up for programs. Many programs are offering two sessions, for Winter and Spring respectively so please be sure to sign up for one or both sessions and make a note of the start and end dates of each program. Finally, don’t forget to sign the PTA waiver form at the time of enrollment.

If your student attends Catalyst kids, please sign the catalyst permission form so that they can release them to attend after school classes. In case the form is not signed, CK will not release them for classes even if the student is enrolled.

All dismissal (prior to 4pm) will happen from the front gate near the office upon completion of the after school classes. The instructors will walk the kids to the front gate and release them to the guardian or escort them to Catalyst Aftercare on campus.

If your student’s class has a dismissal time later than 4pm then you can come to the classroom and collect your student from the instructor.

If a student was absent at school due to health concerns then he/she is not able to attend the after school classes.

We encourage participation from all families, please do not hesitate to volunteer to be an ASP leader.

PTA scholarships:

PTA offers partial scholarships for after school programs for families with financial needs. Scholarships are limited to one program/child. Please use the link below to apply for a scholarship.

Guidelines for Scholarship awards:

  1. Each family may avail of only 1 award per school year.
  2. To be equitable across programs of varying costs, the award amount per family may vary and will not cover 100% costs of the program.

Please note that this information will be confidential and will only be shared with the PTA and Principal of Cherry Chase Elementary for authorization.

Even though these After School programs happen after the school  day, we still expect all students and adults to have Charger Pride. Any behavior to the contrary may result in being removed from the program without refund or recourse. Please make sure to talk  to your children about making good choices before signing up.

Safe – Any unsafe behavior by the participant will result in immediate  removal at the discretion of the teacher or program leaders.

Respectful – We expect children and adults to be respectful to teachers, volunteers, and other children. We all want the best experiences for our children.

Responsible – The participant is responsible for any equipment or materials necessary for the program. The program leaders will work to communicate dates and  program changes as much in advance as possible. It is the family’s responsibility to manage their calendar.

Please contact our ASP Chair Sangeetha Iyer at afterschoolprograms@cherrychasepta.org if you have any questions or you would like to volunteer as an ASP chair.
