A BIG Thank You

Thank you to everyone who came out to this year’s Family STEAM Event. Fun was had by all! It was wonderful to see families building, creating, and exploring together. It was also great to see so many of our past students come back and help the current student community. I can not thank our wonderful volunteers enough for stepping up and making this event possible! Thank you.
If you or your family make anything that you might want to share with the school in next year’s STEAM Event please contact me (the STEAM Event Chair) Tiffany Anderson @ steamsunnyvale@gmail.com

Garden Visitors

Did you know the PTA helps maintain several garden spaces on campus? In addition to classroom beds and barrels available for student planting (talk to your teacher!), there is an area focused on the life cycle of butterflies located along Heatherstone (in front of rooms 24 and 26). The “main” garden behind the Catalyst Kids buildings is currently bursting with spring growth (a mix of weeds and beneficials), that we’ll be clearing in the coming month. We noticed lots of ladybugs in the area last weekend (see photo). Stop by and have a look! But please remember garden rules:
  • Walking feet (no running)
  • Stay on paths (don’t walk through planted areas or stand on raised beds)
  • No picking plants (we do that with classes)
Contact garden@cherrychasepta.org to learn more.

Scholastic Book Fair

Mark your calendars! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Cherry Chase from May 9th to May 13th. This exciting event helps support our school library as well as the classroom libraries (check out your teacher’s wish list!). Your help is important to making the book fair a success. We will need your help setting up, operating the cash registers, and assisting students and families. We will also need your help taking everything down at the end. If you wish to volunteer, please be sure to complete Permission Click to be approved to volunteer. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Parmar at sunita.parmar@sesd.org.
